Experience

My industry experience includes roles with…

Crimson Tide Productions

Crimson Tide Productions is the multimedia component of The University of Alabama Athletic department. CTP produces live shows in-stadium for 8 sports across 6 different venues. They also work alongside ESPN and SEC Network to produce over 50 broadcast shows each year.

Crimson Tide Productions creates industry ready sports media professionals. Alumni of the program have gone on to hold full-time positions with The University of Alabama, ESPN, NFL organizations, NBA organizations, and so many more.

In my time with the program I’ve excelled as a production assistant where I managed responsibilities of operating cameras, running replay machines, gripping cords, and performing Ross XPression and clips. I am also in our On-Air Talent department where I manage On-Air responsibilities such as sit-down interviews, recording press conferences, hosting themed content days with teams, and producing live studio shows for Alabama football games in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

SEC Network & ESPN

Another opportunity offered through working with The University of Alabama Athletics department is working with SEC Network on ESPN. As a production intern for CTP I’ve had the opportunity to work replay operation, camera operation, and shadow on-air talent for SEC Network. This has all shown me the value in being able to work in a fast paced environment and exist within a deadline driven industry.

Working for SEC Network and helping produce linear and ESPN digital broadcasts has taught me so much about what goes into producing television. There are so many moving components that fascinate me. I’ve been extremely blessed to be able to work this close to a television network and become more prepared for future opportunities.

I’ve been provided so many opportunities through CTP. I’ve networked with ESPN analysts, producers, freelance workers, etc. The achievement I’m most proud of was performing as a replay operator for SEC Network. I’ve learned the art of developing storylines as the game progresses which acts as a transferable skill while reporting.

Alabama Adapted Athletics

The University of Alabama Adapted Athletics sponsors competitive college sports in wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis and para track and field. Founded in 2003, the program started with women’s wheelchair basketball and has now grown to include 4 teams with 40 athletes, 17 full-time staff, and over 150 volunteers.

The UAAA has consistently grown their notoriety through accessible viewing for adapted athletics fans. Live streams of each game provide the opportunity to view the game with on-air talent supporting the storytelling. I’ve had the opportunity to grow as a sports reporter through sideline reporting for the program over the course of 2 years.

My first opportunity to sideline report live at a sporting event came with The University of Alabama Adapted Athletics. I’ve never taken the opportunity for granted. I’ve reported for each of the home tournaments, along with play by play talent Sam Holley and Alex Boothe. I plan to continue to grow my skill for reporting as Alabama Wheelchair basketball becomes more and more recognized by major sport media outlets.

Montgomery Biscuits

The Montgomery Biscuits are a Triple-A baseball team in Montgomery, AL and an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays of the MLB. They compete at an elite level, being one step down from the MLB, and are known for their player development and community outreach.

As my first sports media internship outside of The University of Alabama, and the major team in my hometown, I was absolutely honored to work with them. I had the opportunity to contribute to game-day experience as an emcee with the club and work with the social media & marketing department. The biscuits provide a fast-paced professional sports environment that mirrors regional and national broadcasts.
